  om my computer, it says 'you are currently running live without an authirozation, so saving and exporting are deactivated', it then gives. Set your preferred rendering settings and click Export. Next, choose the location to save the exported audio. Click Save and the rendering. Saving and exporting are currently deactivated. I went to my account and it said it wasn't authorized until today. What can i do?

Also, there's no username and password for you to "log into" ableton. You have to have the serial number of the actual product and if someone gave that to you then you could possible steal the license. Super skilled for age. You can still open anything that you saved while demoing, you just can't save new things once the demo is over. Im not trying to be mean here, its just the truth. As a last resort, get a notebook and a pen and write down all of the plugins and effects chains on all of your tracks and any of their values that are changed from the default setting.

If any of the plugins are not native ableton you can still save presets inside them as well. Instead of writing it you could take a screenshot of each one by pressing "print screen", then using the paste command into a paint file.

Im kind of rambling but Im just saying stuff as I think of it. And the thing is, most of these shortcuts are very straightforward and easy to learn.

And to help you get to this point faster, feel free to save this guide or print it out and keep it handy when you dive into Ableton. This can be made easy through the use of keyboard shortcuts. A good rule of thumb is to save every 20 to 30 minutes. You could throw in all your ideas into Session View, and as you find loops and parts that work great together, start throwing them into Arrangement View to build up your track.

While you can also do this by dropping a sample into a black space, this method is handy if you want to insert that new track right after, or in between specific tracks. Just press on the element you want to deactivate or activate and press this simple command. This prevents you from deleting the element if you change your mind.

It can also be a great way to AB your track with a certain processing chain or plugin on or off. To turn it off, just click on the loop switch on the upper right corner of Ableton. Check out the following shortcut 9 which goes over additional length variations to double or halve your loop. For for this to work, you first need to press on the loop length bar, with the looping mode on. Or even just messed anything up and want to go back? You can do it multiple times until you find yourself at the point you wanted.
